after a long beautiful week that has nonetheless taken its toll (I feel so tamasic!), I’m turning to dandelions.
most plants we consider ‘weeds’ are actually medicinal herbs (my trip to suzie’s farm yesterday really drove this point home for me; nettle, lambs quarter, chrysanthemum, all growing in radiant abundance together with the plants we eat for sustenance!) but dandelions especially amaze me: among many other uses, it is of the most effective detoxifying herbs on this planet.
dandelion root is amazing for your liver & kidneys & digestion— even your skin. the leaves make a great spring tonic that cleanses & clarifies, plus they’re a good source of vitamins & minerals, especially potassium. the little white parachutes make your wishes come true. (just kidding on that last part. I think.)
